GEMC FCU
is committed to providing you with superior service and financial
products which meet your needs and help you succeed in reaching
your financial goals. We are required by law to provide you
with this notice. After reading this notice, should you have

The following
is a description of the information which we collect and disclose,
including the parties who receive nonpublic information from
us as we conduct routine business.
INFORMATION
THAT WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information
we receive from a consumer reporting agency;
- Information
about your transactions with us, our affiliates,
or others;
- Information
we receive from your applications or other
forms; and
- Information,
which we received when verifying the information that you
provide on applications or other forms, or from other institutions
where you conduct financial transactions.
We may
disclose all of the information that we collect, as described
above as permitted by law.
DISCLOSURE
OF INFORMATION TO PARTIES THAT PROVIDE SERVICE TO US
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described
above to the companies that perform marketing or other services
on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom
we have joint marketing agreements. We only work with companies
who agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and
limit the use of information we provide. As a result of these
arrangements, we may disclose all of the information we collect,
as described above. We do not permit these companies to sell
the member information or reports to other third parties.
We may also disclose information about you under other circumstances
as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically
include information to process transactions on your behalf,
conduct the operations of our credit union, follow your instructions
as you authorize or protect the security of our financial
records.
CATEGORIES
OF PARTIES TO WHOM WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
We may
disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following
types of third parties:
- Financial
service provider such as mortgage service companies and
insurance companies;
Non-financial
companies such as plastic card processors, data processing
company, share draft check printers, consumer reporting companies,
financial statement printing company and government agencies.
HOW
TO EXERCISE YOUR OPT OUT OPTION
If you
prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information
about you to nonaffiliated third parities, you may opt out
of those disclosures, that is, you may direct us not to make
those disclosures ( other than disclosures permitted by law).
If you wish to opt out of disclosures to nonaffiliated third
parties, you may:

Credit Union will comply with your opt out direction as soon
as reasonably practical after we receive the notice.
JOINT
OWNERS EXERCISING THE OPT OUT OPTION
GEMC Federal
Credit Union will treat an opt out direction of any one of
the consumers to apply to everyone on the account.
DISCLOSURE
OF INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER MEMBERS
If you decide to terminate your membership with GEMC FCU,
we will not share information that we have collected about
you, except that permitted by law.
HOW
WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards
that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic
personal information.
We restrict
access to nonpublic personal information about you to those
employees who need to know that information to provide products
or services to you. Our employees are trained in the importance
of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy.
WHAT
MEMBERS CAN DO TO HELP
Members can help by adhering to these guidelines:
- Protect
your account numbers, personal ID numbers (PINS) and passwords.
Always keep your PIN number and your cards in separate locations
in the event that your card is lost or stolen.
- Use
caution when giving out personal information. If someone
calls you and states that they are calling from the credit
union, please beware. Official credit union staff will already
have access to your information.
- Keep
your information current with us. If we detect potentially
fraudulent or unauthorized activity on your account, we
will need to contact you. Unless we have a correct address
and phone number, we will be unable to readily make this
information available to you.
