President’s Letter
Dear Credit Union Member:

We all feel overwhelmed at times. If you’re like me, your daily life is filled with work deadlines, phone calls, and family obliga-tions. We’re tugged in so many directions that sometimes we feel the easiest path is the best one, just so we can feel a sense of accomplishment and move on to the next issue that comes along.

Most often, though, the easiest and quickest fix is not always the best. That is especially true when it comes to managing our money. So many of us seek out what sounds like aneasy fix or good deal, just to find out in the end that, well, it wasn’t so sweet. We work hard for our money, and we also have to work hard to keep it and make it work for us.

Our goal at GEMC FCU is to do some of that hard work for you. We want to be a place you can come for your financial needs that will help you hold on to as much of your money as you can. The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) recently put together a Custom Benefits Analysis for every American credit union. In our report, CUNA compared products and services at GEMC FCU to determine how much our members save by allowing us to serve them. Based on information from June 2006, the average household saves $206 per year by coming to GEMC for their financial needs. Broken down by individual, the average member saves $114 per year.

We want you to call us first when you need financial advice. Many of our staff have over 20 years of experience, and we have been able to use that expertise many times to help members compare and examine offers made by other financial institutions or dealerships. We will give you honest, informed answers, even if that means it is better for you to go to another financial institution. I’ve heard our staff say,“You’ve found a good deal, and at this time we can not do better.”Why do we do that? Because serving you really is our top priority. We want to be a trusted financial advisor for you and your family.

We want you to make decisions for your family that will help you achieve your goals, even if they aren’t the quick-est or easiest options. We truly want to be part of your team, and I urge you to give us that opportunity and encourage your family members to do the same. In the end, it won’t be so hard to do, after all.

Sincerely,
Denise Swan
